Wine Academy offers wine tastings and events designed to give enthusiasts the opportunity to sample a range of wines.
Upcoming Events
Our weekly Wine Classes are given by our very own in-house Wine Experts – Steve McGuire (Lakewood/Brick Store), Josh Schwartz (Marlboro Store) and Scott Reiner (Hazlet/Holmdel Store). The classes are held from 4pm to 7pm (Lakewood), 5pm to 8pm (Hazlet) and 5pm to 8pm (Marlboro) in our Wine Grotto. These classes are FREE – there is no cost or pre-registration required. Just come on down and enjoy learning everything you ever wanted to know about wine (beer and spirits too!).
While the “discussion” lasts 3 hours the material actually repeats itself, on the hour and half hour, for 6 separate “discussions”. As such, in case you can’t make it at the early times due to work commitments come by at 5pm or 6pm and you won’t miss a thing as we will begin the session fresh at the top of every hour.
Everyday Tastings
Wine tasting is not only fun, but it gives you information you can use!
Every day you can come into Wine Academy and taste wines with our Tasting Machines. Not only trying individual bottles to see whether or not you like them, but also trying new categories of wine you have never had, possibly discovering whole new avenues of joy.
We have a ‘Wine Class’ every Thursday from 4-7pm at our Lakewood Store and every Thursday from 5-8pm at our Hazlet and Marlboro Stores.
Think of them as educational tastings. We will open up 4 wines every week that are connected by some theme designed to explore some of the great debates in the wine world. Do you like richer wines made with oak, or do you prefer clean offerings that use no oak? Come in and find out. Are you a fan of the cool climate Syrahs of the Northern Rhone Valley, or do you swoon for the bombastic Shirazes of the warmer continent of Australia? Come in and find out.
The goal of all of this is to make you the best wine consumer you can be. Putting in your hands the exact wine that you desire.

As you can clearly see this is just about wine. We have weekly beer tastings and classes plus plenty of spirits tastings as well. We strongly feel an educated buyer who gets to taste before they buy will be a life longer customer – and that’s our overriding goal!
